THE REV. AND MRS. GEORGE FLETCHER STANLEY, of Loris, have been married for sixty-five years. The Rev. Mr. Stanley has been a Baptist preacher for sixty years, most of that time in the vicinity of Loris. They have five living children, Mrs. Grace Prince, Mrs. J. Ed Harrelson, S. Calbot Stanley, W. H. Stanley and Mayor E. G. Stanley, all of Loris. They were married April 12, 1877. Mr. Stanley, the son of the late Mr. John Colier Stanley and Mrs. Dorcas Gore Stanley, was born September 23, 1857. Mrs. Stanley was born June 8, 1857, daughter of the late Mr. John W. Thompson and Mrs. Charity Gore Thompson.

2) Photograph, date unknow, with the following caption:

Mrs. Winston Stroud, who before her marriage November 18, was Miss Virginai Grainger, daughter of Mrs. N. C. Grainger and the late Mr. N. C. Grainger, of Nichols. Mr. Stroud, who is in the navy, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. V. M. Stroud, of Nichols. Mr. and Mrs. Stroud are making their home in San Francisco, where he is stationed.

3) LORIS BRIDE - Miss Marie Grainger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Grainger, of Nichols, was married to Fireman Second Class Ralph E. Hayes, United states navy, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Hayes, also of Nichols, December 23, in the First Methodist church, Gulfport, Miss. The Rev. C. C. Clark officiated. Mrs. Hayes is a senior at Winthrop college. Fireman Hayes, who attended the Floyds high school, Nichols, attended Clemson college before he entered the navy.

Just a card to let you no (sic) that Bud had a stroke of Parlizis (sic) Sunday and that he is not getting any better and if it is so you all can come try to come to see him. He said to get his other sisters word & all come. We stay between Summit & Swainsboro, so you all come, if you can't come be sure and write us right back.

The above information is from the Bible of Susan E. (Aunt Sudie) Grainger. She was a daughter of Alex and Elizabeth Anderson Small. She died in a Mullins, SC hospital on Dec 11, 1949 after an extended illness; she was 73 years old. Susan, her husband and his mother (Susannah Grainger) are buried in Pleasant View cemetery. Alex Marshall Grainger and wife Agatha Floyd Grainger are in a separate part of the cemetery.
